ETS for facial blushing
“Hi Penny & Simon
I hope you are both well!
I just wanted to express my gratitude to you both, with regards to the ETS operation I underwent in May 2006.
My life has been totally transformed, I cannot believe it!, I now don't have any problems with low confidence and or self esteem, I can't blush even if I try!!!.
The only side effects are compensatory sweating (much worse in hot weather but its a good excuse for me now to purchase a new car with air - conditioning) and I still have numbness across the right side of my chest, above the breastbone but that's it, I can live with these side effects a lot more than the blushing.
What's more is that I have now found the confidence to apply for a job tutoring basic skills to young apprentices on government funded schemes ( a job I previously applied for before I underwent the operation and came second, I think my lack of confidence hindered my chances!). The interview is on the 15th September (keep your fingers and toes crossed for me!) and even more so I don't feel anxious and or nervous about the interview, especially blushing whilst in the interview.
I was really at my lowest before I had the operation, I was very depressed and I knew no amount of counseilling coupled with the taking of prescribed medication would of cured my health problem. You both helped me overcome this and I will always be eternally grateful.
Your kindness and helpfulness was extremely reassuring, I don't think I would have undergone the operation if it wasn't for the both of you.
Again, thank you, thank you, thank you to you both and all of the staff at the Nuffield Hospital who provided me with 1st class aftercare.
